Dr Natalia Gavrilova

I am a New Zealand-trained haematologist who works as a clinical and laboratory haematologist in Waikato Hospital and also bring my skill set to the private medical sector. I hold fellowships with both the Australasian College of Physicians and the College of Pathologists.

Medical Career

  • I grew up in Russia, where I completed my early medical studies, before immigrating to Israel in 1999 where I worked at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem in Internal Medicine and also in the most advanced bone marrow transplant unit.
  • I moved to New Zealand in 2006 and worked in Waikato Hospital and Christchurch Hospital before completion of haematology training in 2013.
  •  I took up a position at Waikato Hospital, where I still work as a consultant haematologist.
  • My areas of expertise include general, malignant haematology, as well as diagnostic and laboratory haematology. My interests include a variety of lymphoid conditions including Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, CLL, as well as myeloid conditions including myelodysplastic and myeloproliferative disorders. I also see patients with venous thromboembolic disorders.
  • I actively participate in the Waikato Hospital Clinical Trial Unit.
